MCA V3 Portal: Which DSC Works After the 2026 Upgrade

The MCA V3 rollout has changed how DSCs are registered for company directors and practising professionals — what still works, what needs re-registration, what to fix.

The MCA V3 portal migration has consolidated director, professional and business-user roles into a single account structure. For DSC holders that means the certificate itself still works — but the association between DSC, DIN and portal login often has to be rebuilt.

What is unchanged

  • Class 3 DSC is still the only accepted class.
  • The underlying PAN on the DSC must match the PAN on your DIN and PAN on your MCA profile.
  • USB token models supported earlier (ePass 2003, TrustKey, Watchdata, HYP2003) all still work.

What breaks on first login to V3

  1. Existing DSC associations from V2 are not carried over 1:1 — you'll be prompted to re-register.
  2. Old browser-plugin signing has been replaced by the newer emSigner (V3) utility; install the updated version.
  3. If your DIN status changed (e.g. deactivated for missed DIR-3 KYC), you must reactivate before DSC registration.

The clean re-registration path

Log in to MCA V3, go to My Application → Associate DSC. Insert the token, select the certificate, sign the request. On success, your DSC is linked to your DIN and to every company you are a director in. Repeat for each professional role (CA, CS, CMA) if applicable.

If your DSC's PAN differs from your DIN PAN

You cannot associate the DSC. Fix the DIN PAN first via DIR-6, then re-attempt. In practice, at renewal time, it's simpler to issue a fresh DSC in the exact PAN name on record.

We handle V3 re-registration and DIR-3 KYC in the same appointment for Bangalore directors — see the MCA / ROC compliance page.
